It seems the opposition to the eradication of hard shoulders on so called smart motorways is gathering momentum.
I have always been flabbergasted that ministers, and the department for transport, have kept their heads firmly in the sand over this.
My own MP, Tim Farron has raised the issue for me. The replies to him, and me have been fatuous.
If this had been America, the aforesaid would be facing massive, and costly legal challenges.
Thankfully future vandalism of our motorways has been paused.
However, still the government refuses to back down, and aims to spend another 900million on so called improvements to the existing ‘Smart’ bits.
This is staggeringly obtuse, and stupid. The dangerous lengths should be cancelled, and put back as they were very quickly.
