Unfortunately not all the interview was used, so it doesn’t fully explain what happened and that the technology which is meant to help and protect didn’t work (the lanes weren’t closed off until after Jason & Alexandru were killed) its also very interesting to hear the representative from Highways England very cleverly word his reply when pushed about retro fitting SVD, he never actually says they will, he say “all new projects from next year will have SVD” he also uses the stats from A roads and compares them to motorways stats, they are two different things and cant be compared to each other.
He also ‘fudges’ the reply about distances between refuge areas. The slip roads and services stations are included in the “average distance figure” of 1.5 miles, in fact its the only reason they can legally use that figure, as most refuges are multiple miles apart.
