Answer: they are purposefully not rocking the boat to protect funding, promotions or their OBE’s, they are representing themselves more than us
Of the driving/road using population
25% are over 60 years old.
4% are 17-21 years old.
7% are registered disabled.
45% are women.
All the above groups are ‘protected persons’ and should not, by the government’s own laws, be discriminated against.
There are publicly available reports detailing the detrimental impact which removing the hard shoulder has against these groups of people. We have written laws clarifying these detrimental impacts are not allowed!
Why will nobody help me fight this??
I have contacted EVERY motoring organisation/breakdown insurance company, disability motoring organisations, disability rights organisations, legal clinics, legal training colleges, Police departments, watchdogs, ombudsmen, equality and human rights groups, barristers, MP’s, regulatory bodies, dept of the government (yeah, yeah, I know but you have to do due process) even protest and whistle blower groups, that I can find the contact details for.
I can honestly say in 98% of the cases they didn’t even acknowledge my contact and the few that did reply had a template that just waffled to hide the true meaning, which is basically each and every one of them is in some way funded, patronised or managed by government departments and therefore they don’t want to shout about how lethal Smart Motorways are.
Last time I put a post up like this a few of the ‘motoring organisations’ and disability motoring/rights groups contacted me claiming to have overlooked my initial contact, so I wrote them a whole new email on the subject
…… and all of the few that did reachout never even acknowledge that second email!
A lot of these groups, quangos, organisations, etc. charge membership fees or receive funding or ask for donations to “represent” us, but if they are purposefully not rocking the boat to protect funding, promotions or their OBE’s, they are representing themselves more than us
