We want to keep up the pressure and the momentum that the protest last Monday created, so protest #2 is already in early stages. in the mean time there is something you can do, but you do actually have to do it, ALL of you.
I know work, family, illness, life in general gets in the way of our best intension, but if you do feel as strongly as you all say you do, I need you to put 20 minutes aside and do the following:
Write personally to your MP explaining your concerns. Also ask them to raise it with Grant Shapps and ‘table’ a written parliamentary question asking; if there are plans to convert your M roads into ALR. (All Lane Running)
If they already have ALR then how many accidents involving stationary vehicles has there been since conversion on their stretch (my MP has asked this and so far cant get an answer – so there’s something they’re worried about).
If you live in rural Sussex, ask your MP to ask a general written question on smart motorway safety.
Written questions get seen by the Minister, but more importantly, rattle civil servants, especially if a lot of MPs are interested in the same topic.
